Cameron Meyerink is a Senior Policy Advisor in the energy sector with over a decade of experience in defence, policy, and government relations. He served for twelve years in the Canadian Armed Forces in roles including paratrooper, operations, and training, where he observed firsthand how climate-related domestic operations disrupted force readiness. He also worked within the CAF’s operations centre, monitoring Canadian military activities at home and abroad.

Following his military service, Cameron served as a Defence Policy Officer within the Department of Parliamentary Affairs, where he supported senior leadership, including the Minister of National Defence, by providing analysis and briefings on parliamentary activity, including studies on the impacts of climate change on the Canadian Armed Forces. Thereafter, he worked as a consultant, with experience spanning communications, issues management, public affairs, and political campaigns.

Cameron holds a Bachelor of Military Arts and Science from the Royal Military College of Canada and a Master of Arts in Political Science from the University of Toronto. His published research explores the growing intersection of climate change and international conflict, focusing on competition over fisheries as a vulnerable global resource.
